Project 1: Reading the Contexts of Traditional Streets

Project task & overview:
To introduce ways of reading the important “lexicons” of traditional streets through the tangible qualities of architecture and space, and the intangible socio-cultural attributes. To understand the specific contexts that construct the distinctive place identity and socio-cultural meanings of the traditional streets. All observations are to be captured in sketch journal and a written summary.

Reflection:
Throughout this project, I had learnt how to discuss the relationship between architecture and its social, cultural, and intellectual context within the Asian region. I had also implemented the tgcs of lifelong learning, intrapersonal skills and digital literacy by studying independently and resiliently by making use of the information available on the internet to complete this assignment.
