Project 2a: Site Analysis & Design Response
Project task & overview:
This project establishes an understanding of the context for Project 2. Using the provided site data and information, as well as further information gained from site visit, we are to identify the intangible qualities together with the physical inventory that shape the character of the site in assigned tutorial groups. As a conclusion of the Site Analysis, we are to work with our tutorial group to reorganize the demarcated site area – the Wellness Zone - through the design of a Wellness Masterplan, which will serve as the base for our Project 2: Wellness Center PLUS.
Reflection
Throughout this project, I have learnt to identify and analyse environmental qualities and contextual needs of a site and apply ideas of environmental sustainability and create architectural spaces with consideration of environmental poetics in relation to the basic natural context and existing built context (harness environmental qualities of the site to inform design which impact on users' experiences. and implemented the tgcs of interpersonal skills and communication skills by understanding team dynamics and communicated in all settings with my tutorial group members as well as discipline specific knowledge by putting theories of design learnt into practice.
