Project 2a: The Discovery Center (Genius Loci) - Site Analysis, Site Response and Design Concept
Project task & overview:
Project 2a is a "tutorial team" group project with a small amount of individual work. To complete the site analysis, the team will work in groups of 18–20 students, dividing the duties judiciously. There are 5 division of tasks to be completed within 2 weeks: historical research, site conditions & data collection of macro & micro sites, site analysis of macro & micro sites, extracting the intangible & tangible factors & personal interpretation, site response & concept development.
Reflection
Throughout this project, I have learnt how carry out complete site analysis to be furthered into design concepts. I have also implemented the tgcs of interpersonal skills and communication skills by understanding team dynamics and communicated in all settings with my group members as well as discipline specific knowledge by putting theories of design learnt into practice.
