Project 3: Interpretation and Representation: Principles, Tectonics and Sensory – Sensory Space

Project task & overview:
To create and develop a conceptual narrative, understand the dimensions of anthropometrics and ergonomics, create a practical yet poetic space  and explore how application of materials relate to the sensory experience of space.

Design intention:
During the pandemic, we are trapped inside the house and is disconnected from the nature. This causes increase in levels of stress & anxiety as we're lack of dopamine which gives sense of joy and energy that is released in nature. Therefore, I wanted to create a sensorial experience with the emotion transformation from being trapped & anxious to feeling joy & free through gradual exposure to nature.

Reflection
Throughout this project, I have learnt how to produce design concepts through the process of exploring various sources and abstracting ideas, establish a basic level of understanding of materiality and detailing as well as demonstrate satisfactory manual drawing and model-making skills to represent and communicate the design. I had also achieved the tgc of thinking and problem solving skills by thinking creatively to solve problems arose during the design process as well as digital literacy and intrapersonal skills by studying independently by making use of the information available on the internet.
